A finance specialist since 1980, Adela Cepeda advised municipalities and corporations on the structuring and execution of capital markets transactions exceeding $150 billion. In 2016, she sold her firm, A.C. Advisory, Inc. to PFM, the top ranked municipal advisor in the United States, and became managing director of PFM until 2019.
Ms. Cepeda is a director of BMO Financial Corp., the US holding company for BMO Financial Group, with over 15,000 employees and 550 branches located principally in the Midwest. She is also a director of the UBS Funds, Pathway Mutual Funds and chairs the Mercer Mutual Funds. She serves on numerous non-profit boards, including the Cook County Council of Economic Advisors and the City of Chicago Community Development Commission. She also serves on the boards of the Chicago Foundation for Women, Arrupe College, and Rush Hospital, is president of Teatro Vista, and chairs Angeles Investors, a group funding technology startups.
Ms. Cepeda graduated cum laude with an A.B. in economics from Harvard College and earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago School of Business.
Adela Cepeda has been included among the 50 Most Powerful Latinas by the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) for two consecutive years and has been recognized with numerous awards in Chicago and nationally for her extensive philanthropic activities and business accomplishments. The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) selected her for inclusion in the 2021 NACD Directorship 100, a recognition given to the most influential leaders in corporate governance.
