As a Capital One Director of Data Operations and Support, you will be leading our data operations and support teams through our critical data transformation program. As our company modernizes our data ecosystem and embraces cloud technology, this operations function is more critical than ever. Working across the many teams, you’ll be accountable for defining optimized operational processes and implementing strategies to quickly identify issues, root cause, and remediation steps. Responsibilities

Experience designing and running enterprise technology support systems utilizing technology, people and processes
Strong people and team leadership skills, with an ability to build a highly performant team
Proven ability to create effective training programs for technical support staff
Familiarity with the latest trends in operational support, self healing architectures, and notification platforms
Desire to lead our organization through an ever evolving technical and data support landscape
Ability to understand technology and identify problem trends leading to improved service outcomes
The ability to dig into details while maintaining a view of the big picture
Strong communication skills — written and oral
Ability to influence others across a large organization, gain consensus, and drive solutions to implementation
Technical experience with RDMS, SQL, ETL, scripting, PagerDuty, EFK, ELF, Data Dog, and ServiceNow
Ability to craft a vision, gain buy in from leadership, and see it through to fruition
Excellent vendor management skills
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 10 years of people leadership experience
At least 5 years of leadership experience running enterprise technical support teams with a focus on operational excellence
At least 10 years in software development
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or Management of Info Systems / Technology
Experience with recognized industry patterns, methodologies, and techniques, especially related to data and support systems
Experience with the full AWS stack
Experience with big data technologies such as Redshift, S3 and Snowflake, Hadoop, Ab Initio, Hive, Python, or Spark
Solid understanding of AWS technologies with a focus on data tools and services
Background in agile development and Scaled Agile frameworks
5+ years of experience in financial or other highly regulated industry
