Meet Jonathan Solis

Where are you from?

I’m from Lima, Peru. I’m a proud immigrant and came to the US with my family when I was 13.

What do you do?

I’m a principal project manager with Microsoft Industry Solutions.

What is a career accomplishment you’re proud of?

My 11-year tenure at Microsoft and recent promotion to principal/director level. Microsoft is a major player in technology and I’m proud to be recognized as a Latinx leader in the company, driving transformational solutions for the financial services industry on a global scale. I also lead Microsoft’s Latinx ERG in the New York City metro region.

In the spirit of giving and receiving, what do you seek from this network and what do you want to contribute?

I’m looking to make new, impactful professional connections in the New York City region and learn about others’ professional journeys and share my own. I’m also looking for opportunities to serve as a board member for organizations and causes I’m passionate about, such as immigrant rights, education, and accessibility. I want to contribute to this network by serving as a bridge to opportunities at Microsoft and the technology industry. I’m happy to chat with anyone looking to get into tech!

What is a fun fact about you that you’d like to share with the network?

I’m parent to a Deaf/Hard of Hearing child and spend much of my free time learning and practicing American Sign Language (ASL). I’m also a huge tennis fan and play as often as I can.
