Global Brand Manager – OUS Connected Care Strategy

The Diabetes landscape is rapidly evolving, requiring different approaches to engage our customers, helping them be successful with our medicines. We need to move beyond the delivery of medicine to find ways to integrate technology and health in ways which can personalize diabetes treatment approaches in a more insightful manner.
The Lilly Diabetes’ Connected Care portfolio aims to resolve many of the existing barriers which lead to suboptimal care in diabetes through providing personal insights, recommendations, and behavioral modification though the use of technology. The portfolio contains several product innovations in the hardware, software, and data analytics fields creating a need to understand deeply the desired customer experience for the entire ecosystem as well as the individual parts.
The complexity of the portfolio and the OUS market dynamics require the global team to provide strong support and expertise to the affiliates in building capabilities and setting the foundations for this new vision. It also requires oversight from the team on the go-to-market strategies and alignments across affiliates to ensure consistency and efficiencies.
As part of the OUS Connected Care “launch excellence hub”, the Associate Brand Manager will own the development of long-term strategies for major OUS affiliates, identify capabilities to be built and environmental shaping activities to be developed, to ensure long-term success of affiliates connected care business.
Governance
- Establish a clear RACI and set-up a governance for product launches in prioritized affiliates
- Partner with the Finance team, the IBU and affiliates on the Business Plan to ensure proper resources are in place for Connected Care launches
- Liaise with Global Diabetes brand teams to ensure strategic alignment of Connected Care with current commercialized products
- Work with Global & the US Connected Care teams to set up a quarterly launch reviews
Strategy
- Put together an OUS holistic strategy, business case and go-to-market recommendation for Connected Care
- Develop a framework for affiliates to build a business case for Connected Care launches
- Oversee and co-develop affiliate business cases for future launches, in close collaboration with the affiliate BU manager, PRA, and the IBU
- Team with the Brand team to craft the value proposition for each affiliate relevant to the local market and consistent with the global positioning
- Build a partnership with Pricing/Access team to evaluate monetization strategies and potential business models for Connected Care products, including potential value-based agreements
- Support affiliates in the identification and evaluation of partnerships, ensuring consistency with the overall strategy and alignments across OUS affiliates
- Partner with the forecasting, finance, PRA and IBU brand teams to inform Strategy Plan
- Liaise with Global Connected Care brand team to ensure alignment of connected care long term strategy and future product introductions
- Monitor traditional and non-traditional players strategic moves and alliances, and understand the impact on Lilly’s OUS strategy
Capabilities
- Identify capabilities to be built at local and regional levels, gaps to be filled, and evaluate path forward to build those capabilities (including potential partnerships/investments)
- Team with the launch project manager and the IBU to identify and estimate resources needed and timelines to ramp up capabilities
- Support affiliates in evaluating potential commercial partnerships to build necessary capabilities in the affiliates support the Connect Care program
- Ensure synergies across OUS affiliates in building capabilities
Thought leader engagement and environmental shaping activities
- Team up with the brand team and medical affair to develop an OUS TL engagement plan
- Team up with the affiliates, brand team, corporate affair & communication to develop an OUS environmental shaping plan
- Work with the GPORWE and PRA teams to identify evidence generation needs and build a value dossier
- Team up with the brand team and communication to develop the PR plan
- Engage with global patient and physician associations to develop identified environmental shaping activities at global level
- Monitor and understand long term digital health trends and monetization strategies and communicate to appropriate internal stakeholders
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree required
- Minimum 5 years of marketing experience
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
Additional Information
Domestic and potential for international travel required (25%).
Additional Skills/Preferences
- Affiliate marketing experience
- Other experiences that enabled direct interaction with Lilly customers, especially HCPs (e.g. sales experience)
- Previous brand development experience
- Previous customer support program experience
- High degree of marketing competence as well as proven flexibility to work effectively within alliance
- Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive strategies to address business opportunities
- MBA
- Demonstrated collaboration with cross-functional partners such as regulatory or medical
- Effective problem-solving and analytical skills to evaluate and resolve highly complex or unusual business and organizational problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated learning agility
