An ongoing series from The Alumni Society spotlighting its impressive members

Alma mater: UPenn & Harvard | Location: New York City

Where are you from?

I am originally from Cartago, Costa Rica, where I lived for the first 12 years of my life. I then lived in Bolivia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Brazil, France, the US, and Germany.

What do you do?

I am a finance and wealth management professional and have been involved in fintech startups in the wealth management space over the last few years. I am originally from Cartago, Costa Rica, where I lived for the first 12 years of my life. I then lived in Bolivia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Brazil, France, the US, and Germany.

What is a career accomplishment you’re proud of?

I am very proud of having founded a wealth management startup offering financial education and investing products to female users in Germany and of having had a significant impact in the lives of thousands of women. I created a voice in this space in Germany, which was also a great personal accomplishment given that when I got to Germany 15 years ago, I could not speak a word of German.

In the spirit of giving and receiving, what do you seek from this network and what do you want to contribute?

I love to help companies at very early stages and mentor startups, so I am happy to provide support on that end. I also love to create new connections that create positive outcomes for people, so if I can be of help with my global network please reach out. I am currently looking to reestablish myself professionally in the US and am looking for my next job opportunity within the wealth management, asset management, and/or fintech areas. Any ideas or contacts are very welcome. I am also happy to meet folks in Manhattan or Westchester, so let me know if you are up for a cafecito.

What is a fun fact about you that you’d like to share with the network?

I love languages and speak five languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and French. I love being able to create authentic relationships with people and explore the world and new cultures and I feel like being able to understand and speak more languages makes that so much easier.
