New Member Spotlight: Eduardo Espinel

Meet Member Eduardo Espinel

Where are you from?

I was born in Valencia, Venezuela to Colombian parents. We moved to the US when I was five but we traveled to South America every summer when I was younger.

Where are you based now?

Alpharetta, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta.

What are you up to today?

I’m a Senior Manager at UKG where I am the strategic and senior leader responsible for the overall governance, management, and vision of a large multi-national account. I oversee all service areas that include operations, garnishments, tax, payroll, systems and HRIS, and customer service.

What is a career accomplishment you’re proud of?

Thirteen years ago I changed careers from a professional orchestral conductor to services/payroll to follow my passion for business. At first it was difficult getting my foot in the door, but by getting an MBA and meeting and learning from a lot of great people along the way, it was a decision I’ve never regretted.

What are you looking to gain from The Alumni Society?

In my career in payroll I have not had the opportunity to work and learn from many Latino leaders. In joining the Alumni Society I am hoping to meet and work with other Latino leaders to find ways we can serve as mentors in underrepresented fields.

What are you passionate about or what drives you?

My mission as a leader and life in general is to help others find ways to become more efficient, in order to give them more time to do the things they love.
