Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. My dad’s family came to New Mexico from Iberia around 1600. My mom’s family has been in Arizona since prior to statehood. We’re proud Mexican-Americans (Chicanos).
Where are you based now?
I am currently based in Phoenix, Arizona.
What are you up to today?
I am a senior account executive for Riverbed Technologies, a network acceleration and visibility technology company.
What is a career accomplishment you’re proud of?
My overall body of work in selling to state, local, and education customers. I have over thirty years of experience selling technology and about half of those years spent selling to government.
What benefits or values do you seek in networking platforms such as The Alumni Society?
I’m looking forward to traditional networking opportunities, not only for professional opportunities, but for my servant leadership endeavors as well.
What are you passionate about or what drives you?
Two things, family and my community. I’m a father of five and grandfather to seven. I enjoy spending as much time as I can with them while also helping raise two of my grandsons. In my community I have served on several boards, including the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Alzheimer’s Association, Valley Leadership, Junior Achievement, and the Hispanic Alumni of Notre Dame.
My passion in my community is to recruit at-risk Latinos and Latinas to major universities around the country. I prefer to focus on Notre Dame recruiting, but I feel it’s vital for high schoolers to look out of state to grow academically and socially.
