An ongoing series from The Alumni Society spotlighting its impressive members

Alma mater:

University of Chicago

Where are you from?

I grew up in a small town in Portugal, and lived in a few places in South America and Europe until I put roots down in the Pacific Northwest.

Where are you based now?

Portland, Oregon

What are you up to today?

After many years at Nike, leading their digital transformation, I have decided to leave and just started a company with a fellow Latinx founder. We are accelerating digital transformations by packaging best-in-class curated solutions that can be tested, deployed, and monitored in a simple no-code environment.

What is a career accomplishment you’re proud of?

Leading the transformation of Nike into a digital direct-to-consumer company, starting by defining a multiyear strategy focused on the consumer and most recently working that strategy into the foundation of the Nike business and changing core processes and systems that will drive the next phase of growth focused on speed and flexibility.

What benefits or values do you seek in networking platforms such as The Alumni Society?

Creating a strong community of leaders with similar backgrounds that share similar challenges. Getting feedback and making sure best practices are shared in a trusted environment.

What are you passionate about or what drives you?

I am passionate about leading teams through change and helping them develop their skills and identities. Building a strong team where everyone feels like they can bring their genuine self to work leads to a great working environment and culture. Speaking of passion, I have to mention the three pillars of my life: family, food and fútbol.
