Meet Ruben Galvan

Where are you from?

I am from Peru. I moved to the US when I was 17.

What do you do?

I am a product manager at Amazon Retail and a board member for the Latinos@Amazon LA chapter. My background is in engineering and I am a naturally curious and innovative person. I’ve had the opportunity to launch new products in ecommerce, fintech, and hardware manufacturing.

What is a career accomplishment you’re proud of?

During my time at City National Bank, I stood up the loan forgiveness operations and client-facing website providing financial relief to thousands of small businesses.

In the spirit of giving and receiving, what do you seek from this network and what do you want to contribute?

I am at a place in my career where I am looking for mentoring and guidance on moving to the next level (management, bigger projects), and would love to hear your stories on how that transition happened for you. I am also happy to connect with members interested in entering the tech industry or the product management filed.

What is a fun fact about you that you’d like to share with the network?

I am a father of a very energetic toddler and I have seen my musical taste transform from Bad Bunny to Baby Shark.
