About the Position

Retirement & Personal Wealth Solutions (RPWS) serves the core financial needs of individual clients and plan participants by connecting our capabilities across the firm. RPWS is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive set of personal wealth and retirement products and services through Banking, Merrill Edge and Advisory channels. RPWS provides tools and content that enables financial advisors and bankers to help their client’s live better financial lives.

The HBS Enterprise Sales Consultant is responsible for handling all aspects of territory development and client sales functions within the designated geographical region focusing on the sales of Heath Savings Accounts (HSAs) to companies with 1000 to 3500 employees. Consultant will possess territory management, sales, prospect development, internal distributor management, and contracting and negotiation skills. Individual must demonstrate proven ability to create and execute a territory management plan to bring an integrated retirement product to market while always keeping the banking and referral source(s) up-to-date.

  • Direct sales role located in and covering the Western US geographical region
  • Main responsibilities: Territory development, nurturing of referral and banking and FA partners, bringing prospects through sales process, negotiating and closing skills
  • Develop and leverage partnerships within the firm:
    • Banking and financial partners: GCB, middle market banking partners; General Industry, Health and Institutions, Commercial Real Estate
    • Merrill Lynch Financial Advisors; RBCs and RAFAs
    • Service teams for existing benefit plan clients (cross sell)
  • Develop and leverage partnerships with Brokers/Consultants outside of the firm

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years field sales or like experience in territory management, sales, and prospect development.
  • Self-starter with successful track record of prospecting and developing assigned territory.
  • Exceptional client/relationship management skills
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written) along with group presentation finesse
  • Proven history of working seamlessly within a complex framework of structured internal organizational teams. Keen attention to detailed sales management and deadlines.
  • Energetic, impactful, effective, collaborative, team player with demonstrated professionalism and high degree of integrity
  • Ability to meet multiple goals and deadlines
  • Thorough understanding of RFP process
  • Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), o Sales Force experience preferred
  • Travel – 30%
