Here at The Alumni Society, we believe there are two types of leaders.
The first is a hands-off, arms-length kind of person, one who is all about showing off a shiny, confident smile and giving an insincere air of “Don’t worry, I’ve got this.” The second is someone who consistently shows their face to the people they lead and keeps an eye on the big picture while never forgetting about the individuals for whom they work so tirelessly.
The ten leaders profiled for the Class of 2020 all firmly belong in the latter category. They live and breathe visible leadership and are active within their communities and companies, sometimes even on a global stage. Their passion and hard work in their industry—from agriculture to journalism—serve as a call to action for others. Today, they’re investing in little-known global companies that are on the verge of making a splash, fighting for the rights of farmworker women, running for political office in their hometowns, and more. The Class of 2020 is a force to be reckoned with, and we need them more than ever. Read on and prepare to be inspired.
