About the Position
The Migraine Portfolio Owner role is part of the Strategy & Operations team within the Digital Health organization. This role will be one of 3-5 Portfolio Owners across multiple Therapeutic Areas; the Portfolio Owners will have the opportunity to work together to define processes and tools, identify and share standard methodologies and drive continuous improvement in the delivery of digital solutions to market. This Migraine Portfolio Owner has strategic and operational oversight for the concept, design, development, maintenance, and growth of all digital solutions and platforms supporting Lilly’s migraine digital health portfolio.
The Portfolio Owners will drive ideas from concept though execution, garnering support from their respective therapeutic area’s commercial, medical and clinical teams, as appropriate. Portfolio Owners will take an iterative approach to develop and refine product development and consumer research capabilities. Portfolio Owners will establish a culture of design thinking, hypothesis generation, experimentation and validation. In additional to working alongside other Portfolio Owners and migraine colleagues, the Migraine Portfolio Owner will also collaborate with a variety of DH teams (e.g., design, search and evaluate, and solution architecture) to evolve the digital platforms as required in order to meet the needs of our customers (patients, healthcare providers and payers).
This position will report to the Sr. Advisor of Digital Health Strategy.
Requirements
Strategy
- Define and own delivery of Digital Health migraine portfolio strategy and growth, considering both digital and therapeutic area opportunities and identification of revenue and non-revenue generating strategies
- Actively partner with business unit leaders to define and deliver a customer experience, which is compelling, outcomes driven, and revenue generating
- Support the commercial team in definition of the commercial vision for MVP and future versions of digital migraine products, including definition of the business goals and market opportunity
- Provide input into value propositions and go-to-market strategies for all digital migraine solutions to align with both Digital Health strategy and migraine portfolio strategy
- Accountable for defining and delivering the strategic scope of product releases (e.g., regional vs. national release, control vs. general release, functionality and feature sets) in order to meet market needs and achieve business goals
- Act as the product release gatekeeper by ensuring new projects are aligned to product release and development strategy
- Work with Search and Evaluation team to identify potential external partnership or acquisitions to accelerate value of the migraine digital solutions
- Develop Digital Experience Profiles (DEP) to align partners, drive regulatory input, and inform product design
- Find opportunities to develop prototypes to meet specific unmet needs and gather market input extracting valued from our investment in Digital Health
Product Release / Improvement
- Actively lead the product roadmap for all digital migraine solutions
- Align cross-functional Digital Health and migraine teams on product vision and release goals
- Accountable for defining and communicating the strategic operational scope of product releases
- Collaborate with Product Release Manager to complete the requirements (e.g., functional, system, technical) documentation process in a timeline fashion to enable delivery of product functionality that meets the needs of the business and customers
- Collaborate with Experience Design team actively lead and improve product/solution features and user experience
- Collaborate with other teams (e.g., digital biomarkers, external research) to identify potential opportunities to expand digital product portfolio while considering Lilly’s innovation priorities
- Define objectives, selection criteria (e.g., value to and needs of users, strategic fit), and structure for pilots of new or improvements to existing digital platforms
- Collaborate with Product Release Manager and technical teams to refine product release scope and maintain a product backlog according to business value and based on insights mined from customer data
- Support Commercial Lead in handling the go-to-market plan to drive financial and non-financial results
Business Development
- Work with Commercial Team counterparts to define and maintain the business plan projections, including, but not limited to, benefit evaluation of additional platform features or capabilities, and strategic improvements
- Collaborate with data scientists and statisticians to make sense of large physiological sensor data sets, utilizing elegant data visualization strategies to uncover new insights and communicate value to the business
- Translate findings to actionable specifications and development direction for sensors, algorithms, and integrated open- and closed-loop systems
Regulatory & Business Reporting
- Understand regulatory impact on digital platforms
- Develop critical metrics to track performance of digital platforms
- Handle resource and financial requirements to meet digital platforms’ operationalization needs
- Provide periodic reporting to senior partners, including but not limited to market performance, value generated to partners, and potential risks and mitigation strategies across all relevant digital platforms
Basic Data Infrastructure
- Lead development of data infrastructure and outreach capabilities in partnership with appropriate internal teams (e.g., solution architecture) to enable digital platforms
- Drives development of analytics engines, which are required to evaluate outputs from digital platforms
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4+ years of experience as a Portfolio/Product Owner with accountability for delivery of product strategy and growth, considering revenue and non-revenue benefits
- 3+ years of experience working in a regulated software development environment
- 3+ years of healthcare experience
