About the Position

Freddie Mac is seeking a seeking an experienced leader with a proven track record to lead the teams that enable and support our build & release, CI/CD, ALM, and other tool platforms. We expect this role to be able to balance their focus on transformation while optimizing our current tool platforms. If you have a strong hands-on IT leadership background and passion for delivering outcomes by innovating and exploiting the tools that enable people all over Freddie Mac to do their jobs better, faster, and in innovative ways, we are hiring a CI/CD & Platform Tools Services Director. The role is responsible for creating an exciting and energizing environment focused on its people, processes, and technologies during a period of tremendous change; leading with a balanced approach to quality, risk, and cost; driving efficiency and effectiveness throughout the organization; building a strong bench of future leaders. Identifies, manages, and mitigates risk.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team that owns and manages enterprise wide ALM & CI/CD tools to include full tool lifecycle management, operational support, and service SLA management
  • Lead and develop a team that will support CI/CD build automation and deployment functions
  • Take an active role in DevOps toolchain & technology roadmap planning and influence the evolution to DevOps delivery
  • Expose strengths and weaknesses in the CI/CD Processes and suggest or automate paths forward to mitigate those weaknesses
  • Ensure alignment with DevOps industry best practices and patterns for supporting product and project teams
  • Provide management of the tool lifecycle for owned tools, including but not limited to:
    • Purchase, installation, and retirement of tools
    • Monitoring of tool license usage and compliance
  • Lead operational activities for owned tools, including but not limited to:
    • Establishment and management of operational SLAs
    • Maintenance and upgrade of tool versions and underlying infrastructure
  • Work with stakeholders across the IT organization to adopt new tools
  • Establish operational objectives and work plans for subordinate teams, and delegate assignments to aligned managers
  • Establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements for managed teams
  • Implement strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results for assigned responsibilities
  • Maintain production environment, operational readiness, controls adherence, and application risk management for owned applications and tools

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of technology delivery experience
  • 4+ years of management skills with a passion for leading and developing individuals to meet their highest level of potential
  • Experience with DevOps concepts, tools and techniques, including but not limited to: Jenkins, Maven builder, Puppet, automated software and configuration deployment tools
  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile and DevOps practices and CI/CD technologies
  • Strong understanding of systems infrastructure and management of that infrastructure
  • Experience with containerized infrastructure solutions following Microservices and DevOps principles
  • In-depth experience leading delivery of solutions that are: Secure, Resilient, Scalable, Transformative
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, independent, and works with minimal direction
