About the Position

Freddie Mac’s Investments and Capital Markets Division is seeking a seasoned Transactions Director to join the Loan Portfolio Managing and Structuring (LPMS) group. The candidate will support securitizations of seasoned and legacy loans. The team is responsible for the management of Freddie Mac’s Non-Performing Loan (NPL) and Re-Performing Loan (RPL) positions in the company’s retained portfolio which includes Seasoned Credit Risk Transfer (SCRT), Seasoned Loan Structured Transactions (SLST) and NPL sale programs. The position requires a deep understanding of structured MBS, including valuation, risk measurement and market supply and demand conditions. In addition, the position requires the ability to develop ad hoc analytic and reporting systems, as well as guide Financial Engineering and Modeling staff in the development of large-scale systems.

Your Work Falls into These Primary Categories:

SCRT, SLST and NPL Transactions:

  • Lead deal structuring and economic analysis of trading decisions
  • Manage syndication processes and subsequent primary bond sales with dealers and investors
  • Market transactions to investors (which will involve traveling, ~10 trips per year)
  • Review offering and operative documents, as needed

Market-Facing and Portfolio Analysis Responsibilities:

  • Independently run transaction and program analytics, providing feedback to internal stakeholders, as appropriate
  • Manage relationships with major external counterparties including broker/dealers, investors and service providers
  • Maintain daily interaction with sell-side traders and sales people
  • Perform market and program surveillance activities
  • Support settlement of securitization and deal tie outs and reporting, including Intex, Bloomberg, etc

Qualifications

  • Typically has 10+ years of experience in securitizations of single-family performing loans
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Statistics or related quantitative field
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to think outside the box
  • Solid communication and people skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced trading desk environment and ability to deal with some degree of ambiguity
