Gloria Chin is deputy communications director in the Office of New York City Mayor Eric Adams. She has more than 15 years of public relations experience at top institutions. In her previous role overseeing communications for Regional Plan Association (RPA), she increased their national media standing by 5 percent over one year, expanding their prominence in outlets such as PBS Newshour and profile pieces in Bloomberg CityLab. Before joining RPA, Chin served as press secretary to the mayor of Austin, Texas – where she led crisis communications locally, statewide and nationally during the start and height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also held several other communications roles in the past, including at New York Presbyterian Hospital, the New York City Department of Transportation, the New York City Department of Buildings, and more. Gloria started her career in broadcast television news in New York City, working her way up from production assistant to writer, field producer, and segment producer. A native of The Bronx, Chin earned a B.A. degree in Communications and Media Studies from Fordham University and M.S. degree in Strategic Communications from Columbia University.
