CHICAGO—Tom Perez, senior advisor and assistant to President Joe Biden and director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, will be a featured speaker for The Alumni Society’s 2024 Leadership Summit. Perez, a member of The Alumni Society, joins an impressive list of Latino leaders who will speak at the organization’s flagship annual event, and his upcoming fireside chat, The Latino Influence in Modern Politics: A Conversation with the Highest-Ranking Latino in the White House, moderated by CBS News’ National Correspondent Lilia Luciano, will be a major highlight of the day and shed light on the crucial topic during a closely watched election year.

Perez has enjoyed a long and storied career that includes decades in local, state, and federal government. He has a bachelor’s degree from Brown University, a master’s degree from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, and a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School.

“The Alumni Society’s annual flagship event consistently features the nation’s top Latino leaders, and the participation of Tom Perez proves that this year is no exception,” said The Alumni Society Co-founder and CEO Pedro A. Guerrero. “Tom’s longstanding commitment to public service makes him a valuable asset in any room, especially in a critical election year where Latino voices can decisively influence outcomes. We need more Latinos in positions of influence and we are thrilled to include his perspective in our programming.”
